I was just reviewing the section "Roadmap to riches" at 7million7years

I've just read a great book by Emanuel Derman where he explains those heady days when Wall Street was the place to be a bright, mathematically-trained guy, and where major investment banks paid phenomenal salaries because they believed a former physicist could accurately calculate the risk of each of their positions, and use computers and arithmetic to stop them going under - "My life as a quant".

Further to Fred the Fireman, I just remembered a guy who's made a business out of scribbling on business cards.
Yep! That's how it happened. Sat in a bar, got out his pen, and doodled on the back of a business card - who said business is difficult ? Have you seen the cost of an MBA ?
His business now produces business cards with scribbles on - and limited prints, where the cards are blown-up huge.

Inspired by Lee's idea of a card business plus Trey + Juliana's offer to help out with the artwork, I got thinking about how to monetise your art.
Just thinking off the top of my head, I would guess that the artist would licence his drawings to be used on the cards, but presumably would also have his own strategies for other avenues to profit from the artwork.

This guy says: "Trying to sell things online is hard - so why not give it away?"
The best way to sell a thing is to make it "free". The thing you're giving away shouldn't take very long to produce - no more e-books that take 6 months to write - produce things quickly, offer them for "free + shipping".
If it flies, you'll make money.
