The Thanksgiving season makes me think about my past. Just having turned 61 means I have a lot of past to think about. But I want to comment on my "Recent Past".

Selecting my "Number" has been a process that I guess really started years ago, long before I ever met my fellow Seven Millionairs in Training. But it didn't really begin to take shape until someone came along and gave me the idea that I could actually reach this goal.

We don't want to forget that in the process of making tough decisions like selecting financial goals for our life and putting together "life Purpose's" there are people who help us along the way, the following people helped me and still are:

My wife Ellen, my children Melody and Matthew, my grandkids Kristina and Mikey, my mentor Adrian, and my fellow trainees Debbie, Mark, Ryan, Josh, Scott and Diane and I can't forget a fellow pastor, Charlie who serves as a constructive critic. And a group of real cool people at Family Dispatch Church. I'm sure there are others who have silently watched from the side lines.

And now hopefully thanks to this blog site I'll have yet another group of people to be thankful for.

MY POINT?</</u>b> No one can successfully come up with a "Life Purpose" and a "Number" that would choak a horse and then determine to reach that number within a short period of time without a team of supporters, encouragers, mentors and critics.

So who are you thankful for?

As a 'foreigner' Thanksgiving is really interesting because it feels like a religious holiday, but isn't ... this idea of everybody coming together to express 'thanks' regardless of origin/race/religion is quite wonderful. Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for Barry, my sons (Jay and Leland), my mom, sister, brother, dad, step-dad and also my grandparents, my first volleyball coach (from Zama, Mr. Lee Forrest), some of my bosses throughout the years, my friends back in Ohio, my neighbors in Ohio and in North Carolina, Barry's circle of friends, and his parents. I am also thankful for Bailey, my sweet but a bit crazy Old English Sheepdog. Since you asked for "who" rather than "what," I'll leave it at that. Those are the people that have been the wind beneath my wings. I am also thankful for the 7MITs and for Adrian, as well as for those of our readers who've chimed in and joined the action (like Jeff, MoneyMonk, and others). It's one thing to be inside it, it's another to be outside and provide insight - a very useful but hard thing to do when you're inside. Thanks also to all the MBAs from Fisher College of Business 2003, my Yoga and Zumba friends and instructors, Beto, Michelle Jackson, Patricia & Andrew, and those of you I am just getting to know today...I guess my biggest thanks go to those who have let me cry when I was down and encouraged me to get up and go on - some of you know who you are; others (like Michelle and Patricia) helped me believe again.
